With this in mind we prepared a few trees we had cut down several months before to use as fence posts.
Then set them in concrete so that they would hold fast in even the strongest of winds.
Oh the temptation, fresh concrete. It just had to be initialed. lol!
Of course one post does not make a fence, well not one of any use that is so we added a few more.
Yes we know, the line is a bit wobbly in places, in fact it's all over the place thanks might I say to some rather large pieces of bedrock which we couldn't dig through, so we dug around them.
As we waited for the concrete to dry we had a tidy round as the area inside the chicken run was full of soil and stone.
But with a little bit of work we soon cleared the stones and soil away.
Our next task was to dig a channel so that the wire fencing could be sunk into the ground, (to stop the chickens digging an escape tunnel, lol).
And even though the poles weren't in a straight line we set about making sure the wire would be.
Caleb then got busy with hammer and staples and fastened the fence to the posts.
We then lay big stones on the inside of the fenceline to stop the chickens digging an escape tunnel. Honestly Chickens are great escape artists and can dig what looks like an escape tunnel in no time what so ever.
And just for good measure we then lay some on the outside so the dogs couldn't dig through.
Caleb celebrating a job well done. For some reason I thought of Rio De Janeiro as I took this photo, I wonder why?
