Normally we work through the summer, simply because things still need doing on a farm no matter what the time of year it is. Of course the work we do changes to suit the time of year. For instance. Autumn/Winter is when we pick the olives and trim the trees back. The end of summer usually sees the picking of the Carobs. Whilst before that during months such as July and August we do land and wall maintanance followed by a little building work if there is any to be done. But this year we decided to take a step back and change the pace a little and for during the months of July and August we chose to kick back, and take a break. Oh my, what luxury. Of course we still had things to do and we of course did them, these included the rendering of the donkey shelter, a whole parcel of gardening, followed by the putting up of the electric fencing oh and some training with the donkeys so we didn't get that much time to laze around. But you know, I think we will do this again, having time to spend with each other, friends and family was the best tonic ever. It certainly has rejuvenated me and hubby is looking well on it too. So if you are wondering why there hasn't been any updates recently this is why, we took a little time for ourselves and let the farm tick over which whilst not very efficient is just what the doctor ordered (well he would have if he had been asked lol).
However, things are about to change.
Summer is over, work is about to begin.
Stay tuned for more updates.
See you soon.
